Hi everyone, Dionísio Arte portal made a post about me, showing my work and a bit of my story and process.
You can check it out here or clicking the image above (portuguese only).
Here is a new work I did.
This is Iemanjá/Yemoja, one of the main orishas of the afro-brazilian and yoruba religions. I wanted to show a different version of her, inspired by the shapes and powers of the sea. I did this image for the wonderful “Contos de Òrun Àiyé”, a comic book project by Hugo Canuto. More details about it here (portuguese only).
I did a good research, learning some important aspects of her: she is a mother, queen of the sea, sometimes called and depicted as a mermaid. Symbols: the waning moon, starfish, waves, pearls.
I ended up with the mermaid version, since in my opinion it was more primal and symbolic and had a good balance between power and beauty with a unique shape and silhouette.
The final design is made to enhance the mother characteristics: big belly and breasts, the body paint of the womb (she gave birth to almost all deities). You can see my exploration and final design of the fan/mirror.
And here is a little making of.
This september I will be teaching a course through Hype School in Porto Alegre about world building and character creation called BIG BANG.
I have been creating worlds and characters for over 10 years now, and I am quite happy to share my experience and knowledge.
More details in the website (only in portuguese): www.hypeschool.com.br
I did the image below to help promote it.
Some new updates!
New images from two projects I am doing: a brazilian werewolf and Walter Corbitt, from a previous concept of mine – you can see my previous post about him here.
I also started working in the Skywind project! It is a complete overhaul of the Skyrim game, making The Elder Scrolls III – Morrowind entirely in that game’s engine, with a lot of dedicated professionals working on it.
My first contribution is the redesign for the Indoril Shield, a very iconic armor piece.
You can see my progress here.
Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of updates, life has been busy.
I want to tell you guys that I am no longer at Fescher Neoilustração studio, the place where I’ve been working for the past five years.
With a good amount of planning, I decided it was time to focus on my stuff and on the things I wanted to do. I have always dreamed about entering the entertainment industry, and just wasn’t getting enough time to work and practice to be able to switch. Entertainment has always been my passion, and I have decided to follow my call right now, not tomorrow.
I want to thank everyone involved in the studio for all those years of learning, laughing and being there for me.
Many things we did together, and I am going to miss that team. They were truly awesome ❤
Above is an image of my current plan of studies for the next four months.
Since there has been a loooong time since university and focus on studies, it will prove an interesting and rewarding ride.
